Dr. Gregory MavridesProf. Gregory Mavrides is an American psychoanalytically-oriented mental health professional born, raised and educated in New York.

He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, a master's and a doctoral degree in clinical social work, both from Columbia University, with six years of post-graduate training at the New York University Psychoanalytic Institute.

Dr. Mavrides' clinical experience spans over 30 years of conducting psychotherapy with adults, children, families, and groups for a wide range of clinical syndromes and personality disorders including severe adjustment reactions, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, drinking problems, drug abuse, and, especially, borderline and narcissistic personality disorders.

His academic experience includes teaching positions at Columbia University, the University of South Carolina, Barry University in North Miami, and Jinan University's International Medical School in Guangzhou, China. Currently, Dr. Mavrides is a professor in psychology and sociology at ALHOSN University where he serves as the chairman of the Department of Social Sciences.

Based on his seven years as a consulting mental health professional and professor in mainland China, Prof. Mavrides serves as the principal author of the comprehensive e-book Foreign Teachers’ Guide to Living and Working in China.

In addition to two teaching awards earned both in the States and in China, Prof. Mavrides is a biographee in the international reference books Marquis Who’s Who in The World, in Science and Engineering and in Medicine and Healthcare.
